December 2, 2002 Governor Mark Schweiker
Dear Governor Schweiker:
We at “Thus Saith the Lord…” Ministries will be greatly disappointed if you sign the legislation on your desk which has the ability to silence preachers on the homosexual issue. We are aware of unloving and even gay bashing that goes on in and outside of the Christian church, of which we condemn. But in standing up for a “Thus Saith the Lord”, the Bible teaches that God loves everyone including the homosexual, the thief, the murderer, the sinner, etc., and the Bible is also quite clear on what God thinks of the practice:
Further, the Bible teaches that such desires and practices is a result of turning from God:
Further, those that continue in this forbidden practice have a grim future.
We do not want to see such happen to people we love. And we love all people because God loves all of us. So please do not allow the slightest restriction in this work.
In addition, if the legislation hints in the slightest of grounds for a lawsuit against a preacher, we fear it will be greatly taken advantage of, to the point of abuse.
