9/16/2008 -  Fox News, September 16, 2008 - Student Told Rosary is Gang Symbol

TEXT:Dallas-area high school student says she's been forbidden from wearing her rosary to school because it's considered a gang symbol. "If we back down to everything the gangs are doing, the gangs win," said Taire Ferguson.

COMMENT:2 Thessalonians 2:15 "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle." Although we do not see the rosary mentioned in word of the apostles or in the epistles, the principle still stands. They are right. If we continue to cave on Christian tradition, there will eventually be none. On the other hand, purposely being in their face with pushing confrontation is also out of balance.

October 10: Do you have an excuse today why you will not spend time with Jesus today?

8/9/2008 -  World Net Daily, August 9, 2008 - Fear mark of the beast? State OKs special license

TEXT:It's not "666," but it's close enough to the New Testament's "mark of the beast," says a small religious group in West Virginia who has won an exemption from the state's requirement that driver's license photos be stored in a digital database. In 1999, WND reported Hudok's fight with the school board over his refusal to wear a photo ID with a bar code that had to remain visible at all times. For Hudok, the digital photographs are "getting closer and closer to the mark of the beast" associated with the arrival of the Antichrist.

COMMENT:Many Christian organizations that believe that last war involves Muslims and Israelites have accepted the rise in power from the Muslim world since 9/11. But besides this, even since the invention of the Social Security Card, people have sought exemption from various tracking devices as the mark of the beast. What paranoia! People are all caught up in the tracking device and are missing the actual mark of the beast, which has nothing to do with the beast. People even reject the use of credit cards for fear of the mark of the beast. To those that believe they will be raptured out before all of this of course are not concerned, but for those that believe in the post rapture, you will not be able to escape the tracking devices. Cease the paranoia. Reject the mark of the beast, which existed before computers. Revelation 13:17 "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." We said in the past, go back to the 1970’s. License plates controlled buying and selling. Even and odd plates determined the day of purchase. Folks, once again read all four sections of the Bible in 1 John 2:18, 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3, and 2 John 1:7 and there is nothing about credit cards, photographs, barcodes, etc. It is all about doctrine, truth vs. error, truth vs. lies, etc. In the future a false worldwide religious rule will be enforced. To track the participation, bar codes, credit cards, ID cards, etc. may be and probably will be used. But they are not the mark of the beast. It’s the doctrine! And what strange words to a bunch of people who profess to be Christian yet state, “It does not matter what you believe”, “Who can trust the Bible”, “No one is correct when it comes to understanding God or the Bible”, “All religions are the same”, etc. These, most populous Christians, are ready for the mark of the beast.

October 10: SHE BROUGHT FORTH HER FIRSTBORN SON

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2:7)

“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:6-7).

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 34:28)

Are the Ten Commandments just an object?

In light of the recent issues in Alabama, we do agree that the ACLU is going a bit out of their way to rid Christian symbols from government property and that is wrong. But equally troubling is how many Christians have raised a voice and even their bodies to stand in the way of removing the symbol and yet are not keeping the very commandments they are defending. Many had greatly sacrificed for support of the Ten Commandments remaining on display including chaining themselves and performing other anti-ruling protesting methods, yet, there were examples of these Christians not keeping the commandments. To this, God says, “to obey [is] better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22).

October 10: Innkeepers kept their doors closed indirectly to Jesus when He was born for many reasons including concern over what the other guests may think. Are you concerned what the guests in your life, friends and family, may think if you let Jesus in?

NEW TESTAMENT LESSON

Jesus Calls Peter, John, James, and Andrew To Follow Him (Matthew 4:13-22, Mark 1:16-20, Luke 4:31, 5:1-11)

Jesus then left Nazareth and dwelt in Capernaum, which fulfilled a prophecy spoken many hundreds of years earlier by the prophet Isaiah. "The people, along the sea coast, were in darkness or not able to know about the truth saw great light or they were now able to understand." Jesus spoke the truth with understanding. From that time Jesus began to preach saying, "Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand or near." And Jesus taught the people on the Sabbath days.

Proverbs 10:1 ¶ The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.
Proverbs 10:2 ¶ Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Proverbs 10:3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
