LATEST NEWS ITEM  TODAY'S DAILY THOUGHT
6/29/2009 -  Yahoo, June 29, 2009 - Grieving Jackson Fans 'Commit Suicide'

TEXT:The man behind the world's biggest online Michael Jackson fan club has said heartbroken followers of the star have committed suicide because of his death.

COMMENT:It is ashame that many Christians have nailed, incorrectly, the commandments to the cross. The very first commandment could have saved these people's lives if more of the law were preached. Exodus 20:3 "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

July 04: When God commands people to do something, many look upon it as work and fall back into the thought that if it is work, they do not want to be caught working their way to heaven. What they forget is that for every command given, God gives the power to complete the command. People who do not see this power are fulfilling 2 Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” Do not deny the power even with the most challenging of all commands - sin no more.
LATEST SUDDEN DESTRUCTION NEWS ITEM  FIRST PARAGRAPH OF TODAY'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL
2/22/2009 -  World Net Daily, February 22, 2009 - Obama ripped on 'sex agenda'

TEXT:A renowned expert on the life and work of sex scientist Alfred Kinsey, widely known as the "father of the sexual revolution," is raising alarms over President Obama's pursuit of sex "education" for kindergartners and his plans to install a pornography advocate in a top Justice Department position.

COMMENT:A glimpse of heaven according to Isaiah 65:20 is, "For the child shall die an hundred years old". This simply refers to the innocence of a child shall last as long as a hundred years old. That is because there shall be no evil to influence the child to give up the innocence as there is today. If we could only let our children be children as long as they can be.

July 04: SIN NO MORE

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 34:28)

Are the Ten Commandments just an object?

In light of the recent issues in Alabama, we do agree that the ACLU is going a bit out of their way to rid Christian symbols from government property and that is wrong. But equally troubling is how many Christians have raised a voice and even their bodies to stand in the way of removing the symbol and yet are not keeping the very commandments they are defending. Many had greatly sacrificed for support of the Ten Commandments remaining on display including chaining themselves and performing other anti-ruling protesting methods, yet, there were examples of these Christians not keeping the commandments. To this, God says, “to obey [is] better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22).

July 04: Have you ever been told by a teacher, parent, or someone else to do something that was obviously beyond your capability? Usually such situations are provided to teach a lesson, but did you know that God never gives a command that people cannot fulfill. That is because God gives all the power of heaven to accomplish what He commands. So when God says, "Sin no more", do not think it impossible by denying the power, but claim and prayer for the power to do as He says.

NEW TESTAMENT LESSON

Jesus Calls Peter, John, James, and Andrew To Follow Him (Matthew 4:13-22, Mark 1:16-20, Luke 4:31, 5:1-11)

Jesus then left Nazareth and dwelt in Capernaum, which fulfilled a prophecy spoken many hundreds of years earlier by the prophet Isaiah. "The people, along the sea coast, were in darkness or not able to know about the truth saw great light or they were now able to understand." Jesus spoke the truth with understanding. From that time Jesus began to preach saying, "Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand or near." And Jesus taught the people on the Sabbath days.

Proverbs 4:1 ¶ Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
Proverbs 4:2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
Proverbs 4:3 For I was my father's son, tender and only [beloved] in the sight of my mother.
